LomaLips® Cream is an exciting new product in the Australian market. It is a new product providing herbal relief for cold sore symptoms, using an ancient active herbal ingredient - the extract of the herb Melissa officinalis - commonly known as Lemon Balm. The Lemon Balm leaf looks a little like the common mint, and it is a member of the same plant family. The name Melissa officinalis comes from the ancient Greek name for honey bees - 'Melissa', named because its aromatic nectar attracted bees. The herb is thought to have been first used medicinally some two thousand years ago, and has been traditionally used on the skin for its soothing effects. The Lemon Balm used in LomaLips® has been extracted using a water extraction method rather than chemical solvents.
